Russia announced that it shot down Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod and Kursk regions

Russian air defense units repelled several attacks by Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod and Kursk regions late last night, destroying at least 11 drones, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
In several separate posts on the Telegram application, the ministry announced that seven drones were shot down over Belgorod Oblast and four over Kursk Oblast. There is no information about possible damage or casualties.
The regions of Belgorod and Kursk border Ukraine and have been repeatedly targeted by drone strikes during the war Russia launched against its neighbor in February 2022.
Ukraine has rarely claimed responsibility for attacks on Russian territory or on Russian-controlled territory in Ukraine, but in recent months it has begun to say that the destruction of Russian military infrastructure is helping Kiev's counteroffensive.
