Russia has registered the one-component vaccine Sputnik Lite
The registration of this vaccine was announced by the Ministry of Health of Russia and the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology "Gamaleya".
The one-component vaccine against coronavirus "Sputnik Lite" is registered in Russia, and its effectiveness is 79,4 percent, which is higher than many vaccines with two doses, according to the Russian Fund for Direct Investments (RFPI).
The registration of this vaccine was announced by the Ministry of Health of Russia and the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology "Gamaleya".
The efficacy of the vaccine is 79,4 percent from the 28th day after immunization. "The efficacy rate of about 80 per cent exceeds the efficacy rates of many two-dose vaccines," the statement said.
According to laboratory research at the Gamalea Center, the Sputnik Lite vaccine is effective against all new types of coronavirus.
"No serious side effects have been reported following immunization with the Sputnik Lite vaccine," the statement added.
As they point out, "Sputnik Lite" does not require special storage conditions and logistics, and the price is affordable - less than 10 dollars.
A single dose, on the other hand, allows a large number of people to be vaccinated in a short period of time.
The head of the RFPI, Kiril Dmitriev, said that "Sputnik V" remains the main means of vaccination against coronavirus in Russia, while the one-component vaccine "Sputnik Lite" will be exported abroad.
The Russian fund says more than 20 million people worldwide have received the first dose of the Sputnik V vaccine by May 5.
"Cases of cerebral synovial thrombosis (CVST) have not been reported," the statement said.
It is emphasized that the production of the vaccine meets the strictest standards with a thorough procedure with four stages of purification of the vaccine.
