Russia names Navalny a terrorist, extremist on the same list as the Taliban and IS
Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who has been in prison for a year, is on the list of terrorists and extremists of the Russian Financial Monitoring Service Rosfinmonitoring, which is in charge of combating money laundering and terrorist financing, reports Politico.
The list also includes one of his collaborators, Love Sobol, who fled into exile before being prosecuted.
Navalny's associates are also on the list
According to the Anti-Corruption Fund, Navalny's organization was banned in June, and at least nine more people linked to his movement were added to the list. In mid-January, two of Navalny's main collaborators were added to the list, Ivan Zhdanov and Leonid Volkov, living in exile.
The list includes thousands of people and hundreds of Islamist, religious and ultranationalist organizations banned in Russia, such as the Taliban and Islamic State.
Navalny was arrested in Moscow on January 17 last year after returning from medical treatment in Germany after severe poisoning in August, which he blames on Russian President Vladimir Putin. He was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for fraud.
