Russia begins military maneuvers in the Pacific Ocean

Russia has begun naval maneuvers in the Pacific Ocean, including anti-submarine warfare and anti-aircraft strikes exercises, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

About 40 vessels and about 20 helicopters and airplanes are participating in the exercises. The maneuvers "will continue until June 28 in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of ​​Japan and the Sea of ​​Okhotsk," the ministry said in a statement.

At various stages, the sailors will carry out missile attacks on ship groups of a conventional enemy, as well as repulse attacks by drones and unmanned boats, the Ministry emphasizes.
