REVOLUTION: FIFA allows five new rules to be tested
The Football Federation of the Netherlands, with the permission of FIFA, will experiment with five new rules in the coming years of competitions under its jurisdiction.
If the experiment proves successful, some of the new rules will be introduced globally.
The decision was made at a meeting held in Amsterdam at the beginning of the week and which, in addition to representatives of the Dutch Football Association and FIFA, will be attended by members of the federations of the United States, Germany, England and Belgium.
The new rules to be experimented with in the coming years in the Netherlands are:
- Performing an out with the foot
- Passing himself from a free kick
- Exclusion of players for a few minutes
- Unlimited number of replacements
- The time when the game will be interrupted will be stopped.
The plan of the members of the Dutch federation is for the experiment to start in the youth categories, then in amateur football, and then through the Cup competition, the new rules to arrive in the Eredivisie, the first Dutch league.
