Rare Pokémon card worth 35.000 euros sold at auction in the Netherlands
A rare Pokémon card, estimated to be worth between 25.000 and 35.000 euros, was discovered and sold at a trading card fair at the Grote Kerk in Alkmaar. The buyer, a man from Delft, bought an unpacked pack of Pokémon cards for 1.250 euros at the Global Cardshop stand, and inside he found the highly sought-after First Edition Dutch Charizard from 1999, writes "Anel Times".

"The chance of finding this card is 0,01 percent," said the vendor who sold the package. The unexpected discovery caused excitement among those present, and applause rang out when the card was revealed.
The buyer, who wished to remain anonymous, described the moment as “like watching Rembrandt's 'Night Watch.'” His brothers, who are devoted collectors of Pokémon cards, were thrilled with the find.
Event organizer Michel de Haas described the sale as a significant moment for the fair.
"This is a great event. I'm really pleased; it's great for the reputation of the fair," he said.
De Haas, owner of Mox Spellen and MoxCon in Heerhugowaard, has been organizing board game conventions for years, but this was his first trading card fair.
A total of 45 exhibitors participated in the event, buying and selling trading cards. The market for trading cards remains strong, and visitors were looking for missing pieces for their collections or profitable trading opportunities.
