The car industry is rapidly moving away from vehicles with internal combustion engines and accordingly Renault plans to build a network of fast charging stations for electric cars along motorways across Europe.

The French carmaker's e-mobility services division, Mobilize, said it will open 200 fast charging stations by mid-2024 across France, Belgium, Italy and Spain.

"Ultimately, electric vehicle drivers will be able to travel from Hamburg to Seville completely worry-free," Mobilize said in a statement, Poslovni Dnevnik reported.

Tesla has been producing high-efficiency super chargers for years and has a global network of about 30.000 fast chargers, and Volkswagen expects its fast charger network to nearly quadruple to around 45.000 by 2025.
