Judging by the movements of the stock market, the German manufacturer of armored vehicles Rheinmetall is experiencing the brightest moments in its 134-year history. This company – one of the largest in the sector of the German military industry – produces it the Leopard 2 tank in cooperation with the company Kraus-Maffei Wegman.

It is this tank that has been in the focus of the public in recent days due to the saga surrounding the permission of the German government to send a certain number of these powerful armored vehicles to the Ukrainian army. 10 billion euros is Rheinmetall's market capitalization, the highest in its 134-year history.

When that news is added to the estimate announced the day before by Rheinmetall CEO Armin Paperger that sales in 2025 will grow to 11 to 12 billion euros, instead of the previously estimated 10 to 11 billion euros, it should come as no surprise that Rheinmetall in it currently has a record value on the stock market. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has improved Rheinmetall's business prospects, but the change is much deeper, Paperger claims, reports Poslovni hr.

"People insulted us and threatened us. Today they tell me and write to me: "Thank God we have you," said the head of Rheinmetall in an interview with the weekly Stern, published this week.

The company was founded as far back as 1889 and produced ammunition for the German Empire and was a key supplier of weapons to the German army in World War I and World War II, when it was temporarily nationalized. In addition to the aforementioned Leopard tanks, Rheinmetall also produces Puma and Marder infantry fighting vehicles and several types of ammunition. However, the company does not only produce weapons, but also parts for cars and wind turbines.
