This comes after a large number of customers complained about receiving huge electricity bills, which in some cases were as much as one average salary in the country.
"For all households that have received electricity bills and have their consumption invoiced for the first time in the fourth block, EVN Home is obliged to correct the electricity bills and make an appropriate allocation by blocks in accordance with the history of the average household consumption in the last three billing periods. Consumers who are dissatisfied with the calculation of the consumed energy and the amount of the bill (in accordance with Article 37 of the Energy Law, the Electricity Supply Rules and the Rules for Handling Complaints and Dispute Resolution, consumers for each invoice), according to the ERC, have the right to file a complaint with the universal supplier EVN Home," the Regulatory Commission says.
– If the consumer is not satisfied with the response received or does not receive a response within the legally prescribed deadline (8 days), they have the right to file a complaint with the ERC as a second-instance body. There is no specific form prescribed for the complaint to the ERC and they should attach to it: a copy of the complaint submitted to EVN HOME, the response from EVN HOME and a copy of the invoice they are complaining about. The complaint can be submitted to the ERC archive or electronically by e-mail to [email protected] и [email protected], the ERC clarifies and adds that the dissatisfied party can initiate an administrative dispute against the ERC's decisions.
Since January 1, the price of electricity for average consumption in all four blocks has increased by less than one percent (0,92%). Specifically, in the first block, the price has increased by 0,68%, while in the second block, the price has increased by 0,90%.
The Regulatory Commission for Energy, Water and Waste Management Services, the statement underlines, calls on political parties not to politicize the decisions of the ERC, which is an independent body.
Citizens received electricity bills worth an average salary?!
