A recipe for brewers, the favorite cake in every home in Yugoslavia
Pivarki are tried and true old-fashioned cookies, which are traditionally made during fasting. But that doesn't mean we can't eat them at any time of the year. They are irresistible because they are made from one of the favorite drinks, which is beer, and from nuts. This combination is a complete hit, and it's even nicer that you can make the brews as balls, rolls... At the end, they are dipped in syrup and rolled in coconut or walnuts. Housewives used to serve these delicious cakes at all gatherings and celebrations.
Ingredients:
- 300 ml of beer
- 600 ml of oil
– 2 bags of baking powder
– 800-900 grams of flour
About the syrup:
- 600 grams of sugar
- 300 milliliters of water
- 2 sachets of vanilla sugar
Additional ingredients:
- nuts

Mix oil and beer in a bowl, then add sifted flour with baking powder. Knead the dough, then shape it into a ball. Roll out the dough, then cut triangles.
Fill the dough triangles with chopped walnuts, then shape them into rolls. Arrange them in a tray lined with baking paper and bake in a heated oven at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes.
