Recipe for quick gram Greek yogurt sausages
In Greece, the appetizer is unthinkable without the famous spread - zaziki. It is a thick and rich sauce made from Greek yogurt or cream combined with grated fresh cucumbers, c and some spices.
The sauce goes well with a large number of foods - from roast meat to soft buns, with olives and with a variety of fresh vegetables.
Even if you have temporarily or permanently (due to veganism) given up eating animal food, you can still enjoy its flavors.
Use a plant-based coconut substitute instead of thick Greek yogurt. Just make sure you choose unsweetened yogurt. Otherwise, you could end up with a completely different sauce than you want.
Ingredients:
– 350 grams of unsweetened coconut yogurt
– 5 grams of fresh chives
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1,5 tablespoons lemon juice
– ½ large fresh cucumber
- salt and pepper if desired
Preparation:
Wash the cucumber well and grate the skin. Place in a strainer or clean cotton cloth and squeeze out excess water.
Mix the drained grated cucumber with unsweetened coconut yogurt.
Grate the garlic on top of the mixture and season everything together with a little salt, lemon juice and finely chopped chives.
Add quality extra virgin olive oil to the spread for an extra dose of decadence.
Serve immediately or refrigerate to set. Good appetite!
