Conversation with Biljana S. Crvenkovska as part of the campaign "We read contemporary Macedonian authors"

A conversation with Biljana S. will be held in the "T'ga za yug" memorial room in the "Miladinovci Brothers" JU City Library in Skopje, on October 6, at 19 p.m. Crvenkovska, author of the book "Nine stories about Miss Sit", a book for the month of October within the campaign "Reading contemporary Macedonian authors".

Biljana Crvenkovska is a writer, screenwriter, editor and translator, master of philosophical sciences. He is the editor-in-chief of the "Cudna Šuma" publishing house, as well as of the e-magazine for children of the same name. He writes books for children and young people, but also prose, poetry and scripts for TV and animated series.

He has written several novels for children, including: "What Santa Claus Dreamed", "The Super Witch, the Cat and the Six Magic Cookies" and the award-winning "Dark Star and the Creatures from Straskograd". He is the author of the picture books and scenarios from the series "Bibi's World", as well as the award-winning picture book "The Invisible House", illustrated by Vane Kosturanov.

She has received several awards and recognitions for her novels and picture books, including the "Vancho Nikoleski" award, which is awarded by the Writers' Association of Macedonia, for the book "Mama Ana's Good Night Stories" for 2020.

With her two novels for adults, "Nine Stories for Miss Sith" and "House over the Waves", she was shortlisted for the Slavko Janevski Foundation's Novel of the Year award.

Crvenkovska is the creator and author of the scripts for the animated films from the series "Bibi's World", and is also one of the screenwriters for the children's series "Five Plus Family" and "Zoki Poki". Her books and short stories have been translated into Serbian, English, French, German, Ukrainian, Albanian, Russian, Slovenian, Polish, Turkish, Croatian and Czech. He is a member of the Society of Writers of Macedonia.

The conversation with Biljana S. Crvenkovska will be led by Aleksandra Jurukovska, and fragments of the book will be read by actress Iva Milchova.

The campaign "Reading contemporary Macedonian authors" aims to bring the works of contemporary writers closer to readers. Reading local authors means supporting their work, Macedonian publishing and the Macedonian language.
