The black balance is growing: Over 3.600 died in the catastrophic earthquakes

At least 3.600 people have died in the powerful earthquakes that have hit Turkey and Syria, and the total number of injured is now more than 18.000, according to media reports and Turkish officials.

At least 15.108 people were injured in Turkey, and 3.717 in Syria. In Syria, according to the latest data, 1.073 people died.

Turkey's Disaster Management Agency says at least 2.316 people have died in Turkey.

President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced seven days of mourning due to the catastrophic earthquake near Gaziantep, Anatolia reported.

Late this afternoon, video footage appeared on social networks from the Syrian city of Aleppo showing buildings collapsing like a house of cards, and mothers with children in their arms fleeing in panic.
