"Early Sorrows" by Danilo Kish, finally, in Macedonian

As an event that was part of the additional program of the International Literary Festival "Pro-Za Balkan", in the coffee-bookstore "Bukva" was promoted the Macedonian edition of "Rani Jadovi" by Danilo Kish, published by "Prozart Media" from Skopje.

The translation of the work is by Dejan Trajkoski, while the Serbian writer and publisher Gojko Bozovic, the Macedonian writer Aleksandar Prokopiev and the theater director Srdjan Janikijevic spoke about the work of one of the greatest writers in the second half of the 20th century, Danilo Kish.

The book "Kish's Correspondence" will be published soon by "Archipelag", the publishing house of Bozovic. "Kish wrote a lot of letters, but at that time he did not keep copies. The book will be a kind of biography of Kish, and it contains letters and correspondence from all over the world, from his friends, collaborators, writers. It is interesting how those letters are located. Some of these letters are very valuable. "He has correspondence with Brodsky, Suzanne Sontag, Milan Kundera, and this is the least known part of his work," Bozovic revealed.

Regarding "Early Sorrows", Bozovic said that it is the most read book in Kish "because it is a very accurate description of a child's upbringing and how he understands the world in which he lives and can recognize it better than adults do. "Few books in world literature can boast of such strength for nostalgic evocation and be compared to this short and great book."

The writer Aleksandar Prokopiev emphasized that he is happy with the fact that the newer generations love Kish, while the director Srdjan Janikijevic, who created a performance according to the "Encyclopedia of the Dead" from Kish, shared his admiration for this author.

- "Encyclopedia of the Dead" means a lot to me and when I had to start working on it, I wanted to change something in myself. Kish has the courage, the courage to slap in the face what he should, although twisted, but he always has high ethics and a need for freedom. "Something that rarely happens today," said the director.
