The Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and during his visit to Austria, he continued to criticize the European Union.

He said that "the Balkans need the EU as much as the EU needs it" and added that he "regrets the European Union, because in such a hot situation in Europe, in the midst of war, Bulgaria is holding two member states hostage." of NATO ”.

- This is a perfect place for discussion, some of the stairs go up and some go down, we are in the middle. Some understand it well, some others need encouragement to understand it, today the EU needs the Balkans as much as it needs the EU. "On the other hand, I must say that it is not a good idea to invite someone from the Balkans and leave them waiting in vain, because it can really take a long time to hear his word," Rama said.

He added that "there is no better place than Austria to recover from the Brussels Depression" and thanked the Austrian Chancellor for his hospitality.

- Many people commented on what I said at the press conference as a great rage, but it has nothing to do with us but with the EU. After staying there for four hours, we felt helpless in the face of a surreal situation, where Bulgaria was taking two NATO countries hostage in the midst of a hot war on Europe's borders. Bulgaria lifted the veto, but this is not just about Bulgaria, there is something deep inside that is lost and needs to be restored quickly. We hear that Putin is sick, it may or may not be true, but the EU seems to be healthy. "I heard from a French friend that Putin did the opposite of what he wanted by uniting Europe and NATO, but it looks like next winter will not be easy, we should not take anything for granted," Rama said.

According to him, "the more people have, the less they are inclined to give up."

He sent a message to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people not to be too optimistic.

"I hope that Ukrainians do not have high expectations for what they have received from the EU, because as I said before, candidate status is just a kind of cure for depression," Rama said.
