The handball national team of Macedonia missed a great chance to record another victory at the Mediterranean Games played in Oran, Algeria, over the host.

The match ended 24:24, but Macedonia had a penalty to win four seconds before the end, but Jonov did not realize the shot from seven meters. The victory would be a reward for the selected players of the coach Kiril Lazarov because in the finish they managed to come back from a two-goal deficit.

Macedonia, which plays at the Mediterranean Games with a rejuvenated national team, had a great start to the match and took the lead with 4: 1. Then came the former goalkeeper of Vardar, Khalifa Gedban who had two defenses that were rewarded with two goals and Algeria came to minus one (6: 5). By the end of the first part, both national teams played goal to goal and went on vacation with a draw (15:15).

The second half started badly for Lazarov's team because they failed to score for six minutes, and in that period Algeria scored 3 goals and took control of the result.

Macedonia fought back with three goals through Dzonov, Gjorgjiev and Mitev, and then with three new goals the "red-yellows" took the lead with 22:19 in ten minutes until the end of the match. But the Algerians, led by the fans, managed to first equalize 22:22 in four minutes until the end, and then take the lead with 22:24.

Johnov scored for 23:24, and after the mistake of the Algerians, Mitev equalized the score. In the last minute, Kizic then caught a ball that gave Macedonia an attack to win and the Algerians committed a foul for a red card and a XNUMX-meter that failed to realize Dzonov and bring Macedonia the second victory at the Mediterranean Games.

The best scorer in Macedonia was Serafimov with five goals, and Johnov, Mitev, Jagurinovski and Gjorgiev scored three goals each. Macedonia has a score of one win and a draw after two rounds, and in the next round that will be played on Thursday, the opponent is the selection of Turkey.
