Radev handed the mandate to Asen Vasilev to form a new government of Bulgaria
The Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance resigned, Asen Vasiev today by the president Rumen Radev received the mandate to form the new Bulgarian government, reported BGNES.
Vasilev now received the trust as a new mandate holder from his party "We continue with the change" against his party colleague Kiril Petkov, who until now held the position of Prime Minister of Bulgaria.
- Bulgaria is in a political, economic and social crisis. Bulgarians share legitimate concerns about rising prices and uncertainty about the future. Since yesterday, we also have a foreign policy crisis - Radev said during the awarding of the mandate.
According to Vasilev, this is a huge responsibility for him.
– For me, this is a huge responsibility. We are all aware that in the crises that Bulgaria has to face, it is extremely important to have a government. It is also important that he works in the interest of the citizens and not in the interest of the status quo, and that she really defends the Bulgarian interests and the independence of the Bulgarian state in the same way as the first cabinet of Continuing the change - Vasilev said.
The ruling party has seven days to propose a government composition. If it is not approved, the mandate will go to Boyko Borisov's GERB party.
