Radev and Pendarovski reviewed the possibilities for more active cooperation in the field of energy
The presidents of Bulgaria and North Macedonia, Rumen Radev and Stevo Pendarovski, discussed the possibilities for a more active partnership in the field of energy, the press service of the Bulgarian president announced.
The two presidents discussed the possibility of Bulgaria increasing the export of electricity to the Republic of North Macedonia during the winter season.
Bulgaria is the main exporter of electricity in the region, and President Radev emphasized that a solution should be reached in accordance with the rules of the European energy market, Bulgarian legislation and taking into account the interests of Bulgarian citizens and businesses.
The topic was also discussed at the trilateral meeting between Presidents Radev and Pendarovski with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, where the prospects for providing support to the Republic of North Macedonia from the European Commission were discussed. At the meeting of the two presidents, the European perspective of the RSM was also discussed, with Radev appealing for faster implementation of the foreseen constitutional amendments in the Republic of North Macedonia, which will speed up the process of its European integration.
