Radev called on Petkov to convene a Council of Ministers on the scandal with Russia
Bulgarian President Rumen Radev called him the resigned Prime Minister Kiril Petkov to convene a meeting of the Council of Ministers to assess the consequences of the escalation of the crisis in bilateral relations with Russia and to make a decision in accordance with all legal procedures.
"This decision must be in line with the challenges facing national security and the long-term interests of Bulgaria and the thousands of Bulgarian citizens living in the Russian Federation." It is inadmissible to leave them without diplomatic representation. "It is inadmissible for Bulgaria's security decisions not to take into account the risks of escalation and their economic consequences," the Bulgarian head of state was adamant in a Facebook post.
According to him, the responsibility for the decision lies entirely with the resigning government, which performs its functions in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria and the oath given before the National Assembly to take over the state until a real transfer of power.
