Radev is starting the consultations with the parties today
The Bulgarian MPs are sitting in an extraordinary session today. It will be held from 13:00 p.m., and it was convened on the basis of Art. 78, item 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria, the institution announced.
The only item on the agenda is a proposal-decision for the election of a Temporary Commission for drafting the Rules of Procedure for the organization and activities of the National Assembly.
Assoc. Natalija Kiselova was elected president of the 51st National Assembly on the 11th attempt, 25 days after the convening of the first session of the Parliament.
Before that, President Rumen Radev will start consultations with representatives of parliamentary groups in the 51st National Assembly. On Tuesday, the head of state will receive the first two political forces in the parliament – GERB-SDS and "Continuation of the changes-Democratic Bulgaria".
According to the Constitution, after the meetings held with all eight parliamentary forces, Rumen Radev must continue with the procedure for handing over mandates. The procedure was "unblocked" after the MPs succeeded in electing the President of the National Assembly - Assoc. Natalia Kiselova, almost a month after the early elections and after 10 failed attempts.
Boyko Borisov will receive the first mandate to form a government.
