Radev: Bulgaria is doing everything possible to find out the reasons for the tragedy on the Struma highway

"I express my sincere condolences to the relatives of those killed in the accident on the Struma highway and in the nursing home in the village of Royak in northeastern Bulgaria," said Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, MIA reports from Sofia.

- We are together with our brothers from the Republic of Northern Macedonia, together we mourn with them for the tragedy. The Bulgarian state is doing everything necessary to treat and find out the causes of those two serious incidents, said Bulgarian President Radev.

He expressed hope that the injured in the accident would recover as soon as possible. According to Radev, there are many actions to identify the dead, after their transfer.

MEPs from Bulgaria today expressed their condolences to the victims and their loved ones in the terrible bus accident through a minute of silence in the European Parliament, MIA correspondent from Brussels reported. Lawmakers are meeting in Strasbourg this week.

Bulgarian MPs from all political parties started the session of the Bulgarian delegation with a minute of silence, they told MIA.

In a statement, they expressed condolences over the bus crash that claimed 46 lives, including 12 children. A minute of silence was also held for the nine victims of a fire in a nursing home that also happened last night and in which nine people died.

- The MPs express their sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the citizens of Bulgaria and the Republic of Northern Macedonia and wish them a speedy recovery of the injured victims, reads the statement of the Bulgarian MEPs.
