Bulgaria expects the expressed desire for dialogue and understanding by the President Gordana Siljanovska to become a consistent policy of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia. This is the position of the head of state Rumen Radev, who today held a meeting with the president of the RSM in the presidential institution.

- The president of our south-western neighbor is in Bulgaria on the occasion of a visit to the National Opera and Ballet of the RSM, which will present the opera "Nabucco" by Giuseppe Verdi in Sofia. At the meeting, President Radev stressed that the dialogue at the highest level between the two countries should be active and stimulate the work of governments, businesses, as well as bilateral exchange in the field of education, science and culture, according to the announcement published this afternoon by the Bulgarian cabinet. President Radev.

It adds that Bulgaria has always been open to dialogue with the Republic of North Macedonia and expects it not only to help in bilateral cultural rapprochement and economic cooperation, but also to achieve a solution to the open issues in our relations through it.

- They must be decided on the basis of the Agreement on Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation, the protocols signed to it and the Conclusions of the European Council from the summer of 2022, adopted unanimously by all EU member states and with the consent of the RSM, stressed Rumen Radev .

The head of the Bulgarian state added that this is a way to open the negotiation process for full European integration of our neighbor in the interest of the country's youth, and this will be a positive sign for the entire region.

Bulgarian President Radev also called for much more active joint efforts by Bulgaria and RSM for the construction of transport corridor 8, which is of key importance for connectivity and security in South-East Europe and will create qualitatively new conditions for business, tourism and encouraging investments. in the regional plan, his cabinet announced.
