Russian President Vladimir Putin has described US President Joseph Biden as a careerist, believing former US President Donald Trump to be a striking figure.

In an interview with NBC News, which will be broadcast in full on Monday, he said that Biden is an experienced politician and that he is significantly different from Trump, because the current president is a politician all his career, because he has practically spent a century in politics. transmits TAS.

- He is a completely different type of person, and because of that he has some advantages and some disadvantages, but that gives me great hope that there will be no impulsive moves from the current US President - said Putin.

He also stated that is not worried about Biden's previous remarks on his account, when he called him a murderer during an interview with ABC. According to Putin, the use of such labels has become normal for American political culture, probably influenced by Hollywood, but that does not seem normal in Russia.

- I have always been guided by the interests of the Russian people and the Russian state and during my tenure I have become accustomed to all possible types of attacks and none of that surprises me. - stressed Putin.

He also said he respected former US leader Donald Trump, who he described as a "colorful figure".

"I still believe that Trump is an extraordinary individual, a talented person, otherwise he would not have become president of the United States." said Putin.

The Russian president thinks that Trump is an unusual person that you may or may not like, but that he is not part of the classic American establishment and that it is a fact that some people do not like him.

On Thursday, Trump urges Biden to send "warmest congratulations" in written statement Putin at the upcoming Geneva summit. The former US president said his meeting with the Russian leader in Helsinki, Finland in 2018, was "excellent and very productive".

Putin believes that Russian-American relations have deteriorated significantly in recent years and reached the lowest level.

He pointed out in the interview that the relations between the two countries have reached the lowest point in the last few years and expects to discuss the prospects for their improvement in the meeting with the American president on Wednesday, TAS reports.

According to the Kremlin, the two leaders plan to discuss the state and prospects for further development of Russian-US relations, issues of strategic stability and urgent international issues, including fighting the coronavirus pandemic and resolving regional conflicts.
