Putin and Xi will sign two major agreements today
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping are on the second day of talks on economic relations, and both sides are expected to sign two major agreements today to expand "comprehensive partnership" and "strategic cooperation."
As reported by foreign agencies, Xi and Putin spoke for four and a half hours yesterday, calling each other a "dear friend", and the internationally isolated Russian leader said he was open to discussing China's proposals for a solution to the war in Ukraine.
The Russian leader said during the meeting that he was open to talks on Ukraine and praised Beijing's 12-point conflict proposal, which includes a call for dialogue and respect for the territorial sovereignty of all countries.
Economic cooperation will take center stage today in the talks between the Chinese and Russian leaders.
