PSG have informed the public that Neymar, one of the team's best players, will be out for six to eight weeks with an ankle injury to his left foot.

At the end of the match, the Brazilian stepped on the leg of a football player from Saint Etienne and bent his ankle, after which he fell on the grass with a painful grimace on his face.

"Tests performed on Sunday night confirmed that there was damage to the ligaments of the left wrist. That is why Neymar will be out for six to eight weeks. New tests will be performed in 72 hours to accurately determine the severity of the injury - is stated in the announcement of the French club.

Because of that, the Brazilian footballer could return to the team in mid-January or even in February 2022.

This season he scored three goals, the same number of assists, in 10 appearances in the French "Ligue 1" where currently the Parisian "saints" are convincingly in first place with 40 points, 12 more than second-placed Rennes after 15 rounds played.

In the one-round Champions League until the end of the group stage, Mauricio Pochettino's team has already secured a place in the knockout stage.
