The first employed actors of the Theater for Children and Youth are celebrating their 30th anniversary
With the play "The Pea and the Princess", the acting tandem Izabela Novotni and Vladimir Lazovski, on February 1, 2023, commemorate the three-decade anniversary of their fruitful career as first-time actors in the ensemble of NU Theater for Children and Youth - Skopje. These are 30 years filled with various theater roles, with which many generations of children's audiences were educated and enjoyed.
- Three decades ago, when I got a job, I was not aware of the adventure I was embarking on. The enthusiasm I had then still holds me and I believe that we justified the trust as first-time actors to create and create quality performances in the first and only state theater for children and youth in the Macedonian language - says Izabela Novotni.
- It is a wonderful feeling to be a part of creating the foundations of a now large functional family, which tirelessly creates dreams through the theatrical performances through which numerous generations have grown up - Vladimir Lazovski points out.
The Theater for Children and Youth, by decision of the Government in 1990, was established as a National Institution and in the first years of its establishment, plays were performed on various stages throughout Skopje and throughout the country, but without officially employed actors.
Before the theater formed its artistic ensemble, in it, together with the then director Lj. Chadikovski, employed as administrative assistants who have already completed 30 years in TDM are Violeta Dimovska, who still contributes to TDM, and somewhat later Sofia Georgievska, who is already retired.
In 1993, with the play "The Pea and the Princess" by Atanas Ilkov, directed by Srdjan Janiqijevic, starring Vladimir Lazovski and Izabela Novotni, marked the beginning of the formal creation of the theater's artistic ensemble with employed actors, as well as employment of technical associates.
The premiere performance of the play was performed in the Kindergarten "13 November" in Skopje, and due to its mobility and chamber style, it participated in numerous festivals in Albania, Bulgaria, FR Yugoslavia, Italy, Turkey, and won numerous awards and recognitions in a very short time. , among which stand out: Award for performance as a whole at the "Buroborak" festival in Smolen, Bulgaria, 1994; The prize for aesthetic design of the play at the festival in Subotica, 1995, and others.
Along with the employment of the first actors, the theater also records the employment of Ljubica Velkova, a tailor, who leaves a strong mark during the realization of all the sumptuous costumes for the various performances in the theater, and Angele Naskovski, ton, will mark the same number of years spent in TDM this year - master.
On February 6, 1998, the Theater for Children and Youth finally got its own home. The former military restaurant "Vardar" becomes an adapted stage space, of a temporary nature. This facility, as a "temporarily adapted theater", is the only home where the employees tirelessly create and create successful performances intended for children and youth for 33 years and believe in the "Dream that lasts", announced the NU Theater for Children and Youth - Skopje.
