The first British Challenger tanks have arrived in Ukraine

The first British Challenger tanks have arrived in Ukraine to help counter the Russian invasion, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced last night.

Reznikov said that "British Challenger, American Stryker and Puma and German Marders" are already deployed in the Ukrainian units. The minister published photos of these vehicles on his Facebook page, without specifying exactly when they arrived.

The spokeswoman of the Ukrainian Ministry, Iryna Zolotar, confirmed to the French media that the "Challenger" tanks have already arrived in Ukraine, without specifying their exact number.
Ukrainian soldiers have completed training in the United Kingdom to learn how to operate 14 Challenger 2 tanks that London has supplied to Ukraine in the face of a Russian invasion, the British Ministry of Defense said earlier yesterday.

Their training began immediately after the announcement of the delivery of these tanks by the United Kingdom in early January.

"The United Kingdom is sending Challenger 2 tanks, which will soon be in the hands of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the British ministry said in a statement.

London previously mentioned a March delivery, without giving further details on the delivery schedule.

Ukrainian soldiers trained in this way, the number of which has not been specified, are returning to their country "better equipped, but no less dangerous", said British Defense Minister Ben Wallace.

- We continue to stand by them and do everything we can to support Ukraine as long as necessary, Minister Wallace added in the statement
