Scotland will become the first country in the world to make all menstrual products free, it reports The BBC.

There is now a legal duty for local authorities to provide free products such as tampons and sanitary pads to 'anyone who needs them'.

Such a bill was introduced by Scottish MP Monica Lennon, who has been campaigning for free menstrual products since 2016.

"Local authorities and organizations have worked hard to make the legal right to free access to menstrual products a reality. This is another big step for us, which shows the difference that progressive and bold political decisions can make," she says.
