The first country in the world that plans to completely lift the isolation of the infected
The United Kingdom is working on plans that will mean that people infected with the coronavirus will not be required to legally isolate themselves, the British Telegraph reported.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson wants to permanently repeal coronavirus emergency laws as the number of coronavirus cases in the UK continues to decline, the report said.
It adds that official guidelines will remain, but will not result in fines or legal penalties if ignored.
The plans will be worked out in the coming weeks, and the announcement is expected in the spring, the report states.
Last week, Health Minister Sajid Javid said England's isolation would be reduced to five days from the current seven if the patient tested negative twice in a row.
Johnson is also ready to lift restrictions on Plan B-related coronavirus, which were introduced last month to slow the spread of the Omicron variant, according to a previous report in the British Telegraph.
