First case of the new South African strain of the coronavirus in Belgium

 A case of Nu strain has been identified in Belgium, hospitals said.

Strain B.1.1.529 originally detected in South Africa, also known as Nu, has a very fast reproductive capacity and is already present in many countries.

A few minutes ago, the Belgian University Hospital in the city of Leuven informed that a person in Belgium was infected with this new and high-risk strain, the public service, RTBF, reported.
