The investigation against Muhammad Zekiri was extended
The basic public prosecutor's office for the prosecution of organized crime and corruption, OJO-GOKK, has expanded the investigation into the former Secretary General of the Government, Muhammad Zekiri.
The Prosecutor's Office informs MIA that it is a new investigation into another criminal event.
- The subject prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption based on the evidence collected during the investigation procedure that was started in April of this year, issued an Order to conduct a new investigation against the person in whom you show interest in another criminal legal event . Namely, the RSM Government, through the then General Secretary, concluded a contract for consulting services for the reorganization of Railways with a legal entity without complying with the legal procedures for concluding such contracts, informs from the PJSC GOKK.
The prosecutor's office accuses Zekiri that in the period from April 2021 to January 2022, in his capacity as Secretary General of the Government, without conducting a public procurement, he concluded contracts for consulting services with a company, which contract had a total value of about 941 euros, which is about 985 147 euros more than 000 795 euros, the amount that was agreed for the consulting services.
On April 9 of this year, Zekiri was given a measure of detention, which was replaced by house arrest in June of this year due to health reasons.
