Two books with a focus on literary criticism were promoted

The authors and promoters of the promotion in KIC-Skopje

On March 16, the Institute for Macedonian Literature at UKIM promoted two author's publications at the Cultural and Information Center in Skopje. We are talking about the books "Literary Binoculars" by Sonia Stojmenska-Elzeser and "Macedonian Literary Criticism in the XIX" by Slavcho Koviloski. The promoters of the editions were Natasha Avramovska and Valentina Mironska-Hristovska.

The book "Literary Binoculars" by Sonia Stojmenska-Elzeser is the current holder of the DPM's "Dimitar Mitrev" literary criticism award for 2022. It is a work with literary and cultural essays that focus on current research questions from Macedonian culture.

The book contains twenty-two texts divided into two diptychs of a total of eleven chapters. Each diptych is composed of two related thematic-content essays that are divided into a separate chapter according to thematic affinity. "Literary Binoculars" by Sonja Stojmenska-Elzeser is an essay work in which the comparative consideration of literary phenomena opens up new vistas and challenges in Macedonian literary science.

The promoter Natasa Avramovska, in addition to the detailed analysis of Stojmenska-Elzeser's work, also emphasized the satisfaction of the entire staff of the Institute of Macedonian Literature that the book won the "Dimitar Mitrev" award.

The book "Macedonian Literary Criticism in the 19th Century" by Slavco Koviloski represents a kind of history of the emergence and development of criticism in the new Macedonian literature and shows the development of Macedonian literary criticism and literature in the past two centuries.

The book presents about fifty authors with over one hundred and fifty critical-essay texts that in the future should take their place in the canons of Macedonian literature.
