Professor Biljana Angelova from the Economic Institute is the new rector of UKIM
Professor Doctor Biljana Angelova from the Economic Institute is the new rector of UKIM, she confirmed to several media. Unofficially, in today's elections for the first person of our oldest and largest university, she convincingly defeated the other five candidates.
Officially, the university has not yet announced the results of today's voting.
Full-time, part-time professors, assistant professors and students - members of university student assemblies of the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" today elected the first person of the oldest higher education institution in the country.
The dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, prof. Dr. Ratko Duev, then Prof. Dr. Goran Ajdinski, also from the Faculty of Philosophy, prof. Dr. Hristina Spasevska from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEIT) and current vice-rector for teaching, prof. Dr. Dimitar Tashkovski also from FEIT, prof. Dr. Atanas Kocov from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, as well as the current vice-rector for finance, prof. Dr. Biljana Angelova.
Since 1992, Angelova has been employed at the Economic Institute, where she continuously advances in all scientific and teaching-scientific positions. In 2007, for the first time, she was elected to the highest academic title of scientific advisor/full professor in the field of business finance, and in 2012 she was again elected full professor in the field of financial management.
In the period 2006-2008, she was the head of the second cycle of studies in International Management, and from 2008 until today she is in charge of the Financial Management department. She was the first head of the third cycle studies in organizational sciences - management at the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje in the period 2012-2016. Since November 2009 until September 2016, she was the director of the Economic Institute.
In June 2016 was elected vice-chancellor for finance, investment and development at the University of "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, to which position she was elected for the second time in 2020 for the mandate period 2020-2023. From 2016 to 2023, he is the president of the Finance Commission of the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje and the University's Publishing Commission.
