In the Basic Criminal Court - Skopje, the trial continues today for the murder of the Croatian handball player Denis Tot, who was beaten to death in front of a night club in the City Park in Skopje.

The case is in evidentiary proceedings and continues with the presentation of evidence by the prosecution, after the experts Aleksandar Stankov and Renata Jankova from Forensic Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje were heard at the last hearing.

The experts agreed that the injuries suffered by the now deceased are classified as severe bodily injury with a threat to life and are related to the death of the victim.

- As the cause of death, it is stated that the death occurred due to the compression of the cerebrum and the compression of the spinal cord, however, as a critical injury from the occurrence of death based on the overall clinical picture of the now deceased is the injury of the initial part of the spinal cord, explained the expert person Aleksandar Stankov.

The skilled person Renata Jankova said that some injuries can be qualified in isolation, and then talk about the overall effect of the injuries.

- However, if we consider them individually, for example one of the injuries, let's take the injury that led to a non-specific fracture of the nasal bone, it could be a physical injury, however, if that same injury led to a severe concussion, then is grievous bodily harm, she said.

The defense said in its introductory words that it does not consider that the legal qualification for the crime of "murder" which is charged to the defendants for the death of the Croatian handball player is sustainable and that it will prove that there is no intent for the same.

The prosecutor's office, on the other hand, emphasized at the first hearing that it has two CDs from security cameras from which the entire event that took place on the critical evening can be clearly seen, and above all, individually, the actions of each of the defendants that they took that day.

The accused for the murder of the Croatian handball player before the Judicial Council in the Basic Criminal Court - Skopje, stated that they do not feel guilty for the crime they are charged with.

The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office Skopje is prosecuting the defendants Angelo Gjorgievski, Klementina Levkovska and Andrej Kostovski for the crime of "murder" under Article 123 paragraph 1 in connection with Article 22 of the Criminal Code.

According to the indictment, the defendants charge that on April 7, in front of a night club in the City Park in Skopje, they jointly deprived the injured Denis Tot of his life.

- After a short argument, all three of them inflicted several blows and severe physical injuries on him, from which the victim first fell into a comatose state, and the next day he died, according to a statement from the Prosecutor's Office published on July 21 of this year.

The trial is led by judge Elena Ilievska Josifović, and the representative of the prosecution is prosecutor Tanja Trajchevska.
