Try Stefanija Nestorovska's healthy rolls

There is no one who does not like rolls, and you can find a recipe for white flour rolls almost anywhere. However, many people want to lead a healthy life and try to eat as healthy as possible, but it should also be tasty.

Thanks to the skillful hands and ingenuity of Stefanija Nestorovska what is behind the Instagram profile and the blog snestorovska.com, we always have the opportunity to try something interesting and unusual. Stefania prepared healthy rolls for us this time.

Make rolls with spelled flour and you won't even notice the difference because they are just as tasty as those made with white flour, and they stay fresh for days to come. You can serve them for both breakfast and dinner.

Spelled (Triticum spelta) is a type of cereal that is closely related to wheat. The level of gluten in spelled is very low, and this grain has been around since ancient times and is well known for its nutritional properties. One of the most integral and healthiest subspecies of wheat that is abundant in nutrients.

 

Ingredients:

– 1 cup spelled flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
– 150 grams (1 cup) of Greek yogurt
- filling (filling) as desired - olives, spinach, feta, cheese, etc...

Preparation:

Heat the oven to 220 degrees and prepare a baking pan. Either grease the pan well with oil or line it with baking paper, otherwise the rolls will stick.
In a deep bowl, add all the ingredients except for the stuffing for the rolls. Knead until a dough is obtained. Set aside.
Prepare the fillings you will use, I chopped olives and spinach.
Add some flour to the work surface and roll out the dough into a circle using a rolling pin. Just as you would with regular dough.
Divide the dough into 8 triangles, add the toppings and form rolls.
I used a beaten egg for coating, then sprinkled with sesame seeds – this is completely optional.
Bake the rolls for 20 minutes.
You can store the rolls for up to 5 days at room temperature.
Tip: double the dose for a larger amount.
