Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to attend the first day of the European Council summit in Brussels on Thursday, an EU official told Politico.

The office of the Ukrainian president did not confirm Zelensky's travel plans due to security reasons. Zelensky's presence in Brussels will be linked to several European initiatives on Ukraine, including the official start of EU accession negotiations that are due to start tomorrow.
