The natural increase is still negative, the number of marriages has decreased
In the first quarter of 2022, 4.009 live births were registered in Macedonia and compared to the same period last year, their number increased by 2,9 percent, according to data from the State Statistical Office.
7.427 people died in the first quarter of this year, which is an increase of 7,2 percent compared to the same quarter of 2021. Of the dead, 12 are infants.
The natural increase is -3.418, which means that for so many people the number of live births is lower than the number of deaths.
In this quarter of the year, 2.468 marriages were concluded and their number is lower by 8,4 percent compared to the same period of 2021. In the same period, 459 reports of divorces were received.
