Princess Charlotte is the richest child in the world – But she can't get the money...

Princess Charlotte, the daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton, is "worth" significantly more to the British economy than even her older brother Prince George, the future king.

A video claiming that Princess Charlotte is the richest child in the world has gone viral in no time. The claims that she is "worth" as much as $5 billion have garnered a lot of attention, but in reality she benefits very little from it.

Namely, it is about the amount that is estimated to be potentially worth to the British economy, especially in the context of the fact that it is predicted that in the future she will become a fashion icon and one of the most notable members of the royal family.

For comparison, in the same context, the worth of her one-year-old brother George and the future king is estimated at three billion dollars, and the worth of six-year-old Prince Louis is between 70 and 125 million dollars.

But the money can't be reached...

"Princess Charlotte takes a 'piece of the pie' from the entire family and is therefore worth an incredible five billion dollars. Much of the credit for this goes to her fashion influence," writes Reader's Digest and adds:

"Since royal heirs never receive an inheritance "in hand", nor do they have a job to earn money, their wealth is measured by the value they bring to the British economy."

The aforementioned viral video refers to this very fact, adding that the nine-year-old girl is worth more than all the Kardashians combined, indicating that there is no richer child in the world.

But Charlotte won't have much of that in her day-to-day life because she can't profit from her title. In the future, she'll likely become a working member of the royal family, and even if she leaves royal duties, she'll never be able to fully realize her economic potential.

A similar phenomenon is demonstrated by the example of Meghan Markle - during her time in the royal family, she was considered a fashion icon, but only after leaving royal duties was she able to "collect" her fame privately.

Prince Harry's net worth, on the other hand, is estimated at, in this context, a very modest $10 million, most of which is the inheritance of his mother, Princess Diana.

How do members of the royal family earn money?

And if you're wondering how the royals make any money at all when they can't profit from their titles, the answer lies in the profits they collect from their properties. Kate Middleton and Prince William live mainly on the income they earn from their various jobs in the Duchy of Cornwall, which is estimated to be around $30 million a year.
