-We have received the police report. We will review the statements, the video footage from the cameras and, if necessary, we will request statements from other people who were not examined by the commission to determine what happened. The case is classified as an accident, said Acting Public Prosecutor Lidija Salatoska Ilieska.
The unfortunate event occurred on Monday, January 20, during the half-day shift of the first school day of the second semester at the "Goce Delchev" Primary School in Prilep, specifically at 14:35 p.m., during the long break. The Emergency Service was immediately called. Doctors determined that the student was in a semi-conscious state in front of the school building. He was transferred to the Anesthesia Department, where, initially, fractures of the foot and suspected fractures of the vertebrae were diagnosed, and then transferred to Pediatric Surgery in Skopje.
-In the classroom, on the top floor, were the teacher on duty and the 11-year-old sixth grader. The teacher on duty passed by, asked the sixth grader why he didn't go out for recess, and received an answer that he was cold, had food, and would stay in the classroom. When he left, and the student on duty went out to get some food, the unfortunate incident occurred in those few minutes, explained the school principal, Snezhana Koteva.
The student is being treated at the Children's Surgery Center in Skopje, with broken feet and injuries to his vertebrae.
