According to the Rulebook, three candidacies for president of SDSM have been accepted by the Central Election Commission, said today at a press conference Slavjanka Petrovska, MP of SDSM.

She reminded that the deadline for submitting candidacies for president expired yesterday, and four candidacies were submitted.

- Today, according to the rules, the Central Election Commission met and decided that three candidacies are complete with all the necessary documents and conditions according to the rules and conditions that were announced, and one candidacy is not and it was rejected by a decision of the Central Election Commission and the candidate who submitted it. notified of that, Petrovska answered a journalist question to what extent the procedure for verification of the submitted candidacies is, whether today the commission reviewed them and made a decision.

Otherwise, four candidacies were submitted for party leader of SDSM, by Dimitar Kovacevski, current Deputy Minister of Finance, Frosina Remenski, former MP and Vice President of SDSM, Vlastimir Aleksovski, member and activist of SDSM from the municipal organization of the party from Kumanovo and Jovan Despotovski, Director of the Directorate of Technological Industrial Development Zones.

With the Decision of the Executive Board from November 26, 2021, the extraordinary elections will be held on December 12, 2021. The candidacy procedure started on November 27 and ended yesterday. All members of SDSM who met the criteria in accordance with the Statute of SDSM had the right to run. A person who has at least five years of membership in the party and who has been elected by the Congress at least once as a member of one of the party bodies could run for president of SDSM. Local elections will be conducted by 80 municipal election commissions and polling station boards.
