The President of Germany visits Egypt
The President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Cairo today. It is the first visit of a German president to Egypt in 25 years.
A meeting of Steinmeier with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is scheduled for tomorrow, where bilateral relations and the conflict in the Middle East will be discussed.
Steinmeier is accompanied by a delegation of businessmen. Germany is Egypt's most important trade partner in Europe. Over 250 German companies are present in Egypt. Germans are the most numerous foreign tourists visiting Egypt.
