Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy at today's Ukraine - Southeast Europe Summit in Tirana proposed that a special forum for the defense industry should be established between Ukraine and the countries of the Western Balkans.

- We are proud that about 500 defense companies work in Ukraine, but that is not enough to defeat Putin. We see problems in the supply of ammunition and we are interested in joint production of ammunition with you, Zelensky pointed out, adding that the security efforts of Ukraine and the Balkan countries should be intertwined and strengthened.

Zelenski also emphasized that Ukraine and the Balkan countries deserve to be part of the European and Euro-Atlantic community.

– We believe that respect for every nation and the right to security should be universal principles. This can be achieved through cooperation. We believe that every country in Europe that maintains the principles of the European community and wants to become a member deserves full membership in the EU, emphasized Zelenski.

He thanked Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama for Tirana's support for Kyiv.

– The only choice we have is to resist collectively. We do everything we can to not let aggression be rewarded. We must not let Russia win. Our common dream of a prosperous peace will be brought to the brink of a dark future. This fight is also for our freedom and dignity. Albania has done what it could and will continue to do so. We are determined to stay by Ukraine. For small nations like us, which should not be turned into food for Russia, Ukraine should be supported, Rama said.
