Before the accident at Larisa, the station master mistakenly diverted another train
The head of the railway station in Larissa, a few hours before the recent collision between two trains in Greece, in which 57 people died, diverted the suburban train in Larissa to the wrong track, the Greek television "Sky" reported today. Fortunately, the commuter train driver realized this and pointed out the mistake, after which he asked the station master if everything was alright, but he did not get an answer.
The head of the station faces serious charges of traffic violation and for that offense, he faces a prison sentence of ten years to life in prison. He also faces charges of multiple counts of negligent homicide, as well as charges of causing bodily harm.
According to the indictment, the lapses are serious, not only because of the mistake that he diverted the train in the wrong direction, but as it is stated that he could see the train when it took the wrong turn, but did not correct the mistake and correct his fatal decision.
