The chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs (KEP), Arbr Ademi from DUI, threw a cup, trays and plastic bottles at his colleagues from VMRO-DPMNE and the Alliance for Albanians, after they provoked him by removing his microphone when he wanted to close the discussion by adopting on the agenda.

The opposition demands resignation, but also responsibility for violation of the Code of Ethics, and filed a criminal complaint after the series yesterday's incidents that shook the Parliament and the Government.

In the first incident, the chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for European Affairs (KEP), Arbr Ademi from DUI, threw a cup, trays and plastic bottles at his colleagues from the opposition VMRO-DPMNE and Alliance for Albanians, after they provoked him by removing his microphone. The largest opposition party also demanded the resignation of the State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture Valmir Aziri, also a member of the ruling DUI, and asked the Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski to fire him.

Former Education Minister Arbr Ademi apologized for the incident, but said he did not feel guilty because "he did not use violence but was injured himself." This initial incident later spread to social networks, where Valmir Aziri announced that he would "break the bones of MPs", and later deleted the post on Facebook.

VMRO-DPMNE demanded Ademi's resignation

The situation in the Committee on European Affairs escalated when yesterday afternoon, after procedural remarks from the opposition, Ademi put the agenda of the session to a vote. According to the video released by MP Mile Lefkov from VMRO-DPMNE, several MPs from VMRO-DPMNE and the Alliance for Albanians, including Antonio Milososki, Dafina Stojanoska, Ilmi Aziri and Halil Snopce, headed to the desk chaired by Ademi and removed him. the microphone. In the quarrel and pushing, the microphone was uprooted, and the chairman of the Commission, Ademi, was injured. Milososki and Aziri were hit by a cup, a tray and a bottle of water that he threw at the MPs in front of him. Previously, the opposition's remarks were that the government with a European flag and through the Law on Labor Relations wants to extend for three years the employment of several judges and prosecutors, who should retire, instead of doing it through the laws on judiciary and prosecution. , which, in turn, require a two-thirds majority.

The parliamentary group of VMRO-DPMNE at a press conference demanded the resignation of Ademi.

- The public saw that yesterday, at the Commission, contrary to the Rules of Procedure, Arbr Ademi tried to conclude the agenda, even though he had reported MPs who wanted to supplement it. He prevented MPs Snopce, Aziri, Stojanovska, Milososki, Petrusevski from using the Rules of Procedure to propose other points before it was adopted. When he was stopped by his fellow MPs, he got completely lost and started insulting, dragging and hitting, destroying inventory, and even deliberately throwing solid objects, one of which hit his colleague Aziri directly in the head. This already crosses all boundaries, a classic example of a crime. We call on the Public Prosecutor's Office to react, and at the same time we demand that the immunity of MP Arbr Ademi be lifted and that he be held accountable for the violence in the legislature - said Dafina Stojanoska from VMRO-DPMNE.

Ademi expressed regret for the incident, but did not feel personal guilt for his violence against fellow MPs. He said in a statement for "Free Press" that such unpleasant scenes should not be repeated in the Parliament and blamed all the blame for the incident on Milososki and the opposition MPs.

- I express regret for all the scenes that happened yesterday and for the provoked scenes by the opposition. That should not have happened. Of course, the reform agenda of this parliamentary majority and the Government should continue and we should not fall for such provocations from the opposition, which are motivated by foreign agents to destabilize the country and to defocus the public from the European integration processes. It is a law that enables the rule of law and that is why the opposition wanted to prevent its adoption. Such scenes should not be repeated, neither by the opposition nor by anyone else. I am sorry for such scenes and I expect such moments and situations not to be an incentive for conflict in the Parliament - said Ademi.

Asked why he allowed himself to be provoked and why he used violence, he reiterated that he apologized for the unpleasant scene.

- I was in my chair at the desk as President of the Commission. They came to prevent voting on the agenda. In those moments when the list of procedural addresses was exhausted, it happened to prevent the adoption of the agenda - said Ademi.

Asked if he approves of violence because he used it, Ademi denied using force. He said he refuses to comment on videos that have been released to the public.

- There was violence against me, because I was at my job. All MPs have a party agenda, but it must not be to the detriment of institutions and citizens. While I was holding the microphone, they forcibly took it from me and physically injured me. These scenes are unfortunate - says Ademi.

Ademi directly accused Milososki of endangering Macedonia's pro-European future under the influence of foreign services. Although he was asked several times, Ademi did not find fault with himself for yesterday's incident.

- I am not Milososki, who over the phone mounts cases for innocent citizens to lie in prison. Milososki and his party members also spoke out when they said that he wanted to put the citizens in prison with Udba methods. It is known that he is against Albanian education and that he is a Bulgarian - added Ademi.

The opposition did not come to the coordination

The President of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi, tried unsuccessfully to calm down the situation. He convened an urgent coordination of all heads of parliamentary groups, but representatives of VMRO-DPMNE and AA did not attend.

"At the coordination, a conclusion was reached that the Parliamentary Rules of Procedure provide all opportunities for the work of the Assembly and do not allow violence in any form. The coordination also concluded that the citizens themselves will judge from the recordings that are circulating on social networks that caused the incident of the Committee on European Affairs. "Violence against the chairperson of a session of the working body of the Assembly is not allowed in the European Union member states either," Xhaferi's cabinet said.

The debate of the Committee on European Affairs continued yesterday with shouts and tensions. The opposition and the majority disputed whether the agenda had been adopted. Opposition MPs took their seats out of the hall so that the majority MPs could not sit down, so they simply participated in the session.

After the incident in the Parliament, Ademi's fellow party member, Secretary of State for Culture Valmir Aziri, threatened physical violence on Facebook.

"An anti-Albanian like Antonio Milososki deserves more. Gone are the days of fog sellers. "New generations of Albanians will break the arms and legs of anyone who tries to disparage Albanians," Aziri wrote, later deleting the post.

Milososki filed criminal charges

Milososki, on the other hand, filed charges against Aziri at the police station in Centar yesterday for the threats of physical violence and hate speech. The application will be acted upon by the Sector for Electronic Crime and Spreading Hate and Violence via Electronic Communication, which also includes social networks.

The VMRO-DPMNE parliamentary group submitted a letter requesting Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski to immediately dismiss Aziri. The coordinator of the parliamentary group of VMRO-DPMNE Nikola Micevski said that the MPs as direct representatives and representatives of the citizens in the legislature elect the Government, and it is the Government that appoints its government officials.

- This government official yesterday called for physical violence with severe bodily injuries and this is a crime under Article 394-d of the Criminal Code, an act which provides for imprisonment of one to five years. Exactly because of that and due to the seriousness of this incident, and the tragedy of yesterday for democracy in the Republic of Macedonia, we came and personally submitted the request for a sharp reaction from the Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski, who is required to react quickly, because only in that way will show that he is against the calls for physical violence against the MPs and will send a strong message to all that this must not be repeated - said Micevski.
