Practical: These are 5 things you can clean with olive oil
Everyone has a bottle of olive oil stored in the kitchen cupboard. You probably use it for frying or making salad dressings, but did you know there are so many other things you can do with this oil? You can even use it for cleaning!
These are five things you can clean with olive oil, it says "Tips and Tricks".
Stainless steel
Stainless steel is often difficult to clean: you have to use the right products if you don't want to scratch stainless steel surfaces. It may sound strange, but olive oil is the perfect cleaning product. Put a few drops of olive oil on a paper towel and rub the stains on your stainless steel in a circular motion. Is the stainless steel surface you want to clean very dirty? Then you need to remove the worst dirt first using vinegar.
Leather
Do you own leather chairs or sofas and have they become a little ugly? Before you decide to throw them out, try brushing them with a little olive oil. Put some oil on a soft cloth and use it to gently rub the surface of the skin. The oil will cause a reduction in skin wrinkles and help the skin regain its former glow.
Kitchen cupboards (or other wooden cupboards)
The oil has a very good effect on the wood. It gives the wood a deeper color and makes it shine. You can treat wood by mixing two parts olive oil with one part lemon juice and rubbing it on the wood. Let it sit for a while before touching the wood again.
Tavi
Do you have a cast iron pan with food stuck on it that you can't get out with dish soap? Try using a coat of olive oil. Pour a thin layer of oil into the pan and add a few grains of sea salt. Wipe the pan with this and then rinse it properly.
Silver objects
Everyone knows that silver needs to be polished from time to time. Olive oil is an excellent product for this. Dip a soft cloth in a little oil and use it to rub silverware or silver jewelry. Not only will your silverware be cleaner because of it, but it will also restore its original shine.
