Premiere of the text "Knots" by Refet Abazi directed by Kushtrim Bekteshi at the Albanian Theater

The text "Knots" by Refet Abazi on January 28 and 29 has two performances on the stage of the Albanian Theater - Skopje, and the play is directed by Kushtrim Bekteshi

The play "Knots", written by Refet Abazi in 2015, projects a complex and tragic picture of the time we live in, treating the fateful "knots" of many characters who in the vortex of time have lost their mental harmony and contact with themselves and with the truth. "The leitmotif in the structure of the drama is the uncompromising struggle between good and evil, light and darkness, and the struggle is on two levels - on an individual and almost metaphysical level, between God and the devil," wrote Kushtrim Bekteshi in his directorial explanation.

Numerous topics covered by the drama, such as marriage and divorce, traditional and modern, reality and illusion, professionalism and painful ambitions, spiritual and material, values ​​and counter-values, "buying" and "saving" souls, are shown on stage through the genre of magical realism, arousing clear associations for today's audience and asking a multitude of questions about life and our actuality.

The author of the text, Refet Abazi, is a theater, film and television actor, playwright and professor at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje. The play stars actors Adem Karaga, Fisnik Zeqiri, Bislim Mucaj, Teuta Ajdini Jegeni, Amernis Nokshiqi, Osman Ahmeti, Sabina Memishi, Mentor Kurti, Ibrahim Xhemaili, Hetem Etemi, Rahim Ramadali Aheli and Abadi.

The characters in the play live and work inside an urban space, where they intertwine in "knots" that are tied in their destinies during the fierce struggle between good and evil, happiness and sorrow, material and spiritual. The set designer is Betim Zeqiri, the costume designer is Emira Imeri, and the music was composed by Trimor Domi.
