Police will take care of the safety of every neighborhood in Centar

The return of the neighborhood police officers is a big step in increasing the security, but also the cooperation between the citizens and the police, claims the mayor of Centar, Goran Gerasimovski.

In Municipality of Centar are returning neighborhood guards. They will patrol every neighborhood, advise and protect citizens. The return of the neighborhood police officers is a big step in increasing the security, but also the cooperation between the citizens and the police, he claims. the mayor of Centar, Goran Gerasimovski.

Neighborhood police officers will be our new friends, who will take care of the safety of the citizens. If you see them, greet them and ask for personal protection advice, but also share important information regarding the safety in your neighborhood - led Gerasimovski.

The mayor had a meeting with centrists, which was attended by two police officers and a crime prevention inspector at the SIA Skopje. He said that the neighborhood patrols, which return first to the Municipality of Centar, should increase the safety and tranquility of the citizens. In fact, as Gerasimovski emphasized, the return of the police is at the request of the citizens and a real need to increase security.

The return of the police to the neighborhoods was a request, but also a real need for the citizens and I am glad that we managed to realize it with the Ministry of Interior. From now on, every neighborhood in the Municipality of Centar will be covered with one or two police officers who will patrol and protect the citizens. If you come across them in your neighborhood, get to know each other and seek advice on how to protect your home from theft, which is becoming more common in the summer. In the past, neighborhood police officers were a symbol of security in a neighborhood, and parents were sure to let their children play in the street carefree. I hope that this security will come back to us, because the police officers will be our protective friends - said Gerasimovski.

The police officers shared with the citizens basic tips for raising the security of the homes, and encouraged them to report anything suspicious to the telephone number 192.

The citizens are satisfied with this new move of the municipal government.

At the time, there were policemen in every neighborhood who knew us all, who lived where, children knew, we knew them and we could address them at any time. We felt really safer than today when we knew there was someone caring about what was going on in the neighborhood. We had great confidence in them. If you believe me, there were cases when a family would go on vacation to the neighborhood policeman to leave the keys to the house for "God forbid". I'm talking about the 70s and 80s of the last century - says Mile, an older man from Skopje.

The neighborhood policeman's job is to prevent and ensure carefree play outside and the safe return of teens home. It should protect the life, personal safety and property of citizens, prevent the commission of criminal offenses and endanger the safety of road traffic, provide necessary assistance and protection to citizens and monitor the area and the security situation in the neighborhood.
