FIRE IN POLAND: Dozens of houses destroyed, nine injured
A large fire in a village in southern Poland has partially or completely destroyed more than 30 buildings and injured nine people.
The fire broke out in the village Nova Bjala, about 70 km south of Krakow.
The injured were taken to hospital with burns, and more than 30 buildings were partially or completely destroyed, firefighters said late last night, transmits Hina.
About 400 firefighters battled the blaze for hours.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear, but according to media reports, it probably broke out after the hay caught fire.
The Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced assistance to the injured and those who lost their homes.
