A multilingual board, including in the Macedonian language, will be placed on the building of the Committee for National Minorities in Tirana

Following the request of the Macedonian Society "Ilinden" - Tirana, a multilingual board, including in the Macedonian language and its Cyrillic script, will be placed on the building where the Committee for National Minorities is located in Tirana.

"This is another success of our company and for all Macedonians in Albania, as well as other minorities. The Committee for National Minorities is a government institution that includes representatives from all recognized national minorities. Now, as we have been officially informed, the inscription of the institution will be multilingual, which means in the Macedonian language and its Cyrillic script, Nikola Gjurđaj, president of the society, told MIA.

He reminds that on January 31 of last year, the company submitted a request to the Committee for setting up a multilingual board, and ten days later received a positive response.

– But more than a year passed, and the board was not installed. Therefore, on April 25 of this year, we sent a response to several institutions in the Republic of Albania, including the Ombudsman. The Ombudsperson considered the request, responded and engaged to install a multilingual sign on the Committee's building, says Gjurdjaj.

We express, he points out, great gratitude to the Ombudsman and the employees of that institution, for their commitment to finally install a multilingual board.

Previously, at the request of MD "Ilinden", multilingual signs were installed by the Commissioner for Protection against Discrimination and the Ombudsman.
