More than 250.000 signatures to overturn Tony Blair's title
More than 250.000 people have signed a petition calling for the ouster of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
The former leader of the Labor Party was proclaimed a knight on the New Year's honor list and won the title of "sir"
The decision has drawn criticism from the British public, with many saying Blair did not deserve the honor and some calling him a war criminal over Britain's decision to go to war in Iraq.
"Tony Blair has done irreparable damage to the Constitution and to British society. He is personally responsible for countless civilian and military casualties in several conflicts. That is the only reason he should be held accountable for war crimes. "He is the last to receive this honor from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II," the petition reads.
